Why would I convert MKV to AVI?▼

What codec is used in the AVI output?▼
MPEG-4 (Xvid/DivX-compatible) by default, which provides the widest legacy hardware compatibility. H.264 in AVI is available for better quality.
Are subtitles preserved?▼
