Frequently Asked Questions
What metadata is removed?▼
All EXIF (camera, settings, GPS, timestamp), IPTC (copyright, keywords, caption), and XMP (Adobe metadata) is stripped from the image. The output file contains no embedded metadata.
Does removing EXIF change the image quality or appearance?▼
No. Only the metadata embedded in the file header is removed. The pixel data is completely unchanged — the image looks identical before and after.
Why should I remove EXIF before sharing photos?▼
EXIF GPS data reveals exactly where a photo was taken. Sharing photos with GPS coordinates can expose your home address, workplace, travel patterns, and other location data to anyone who downloads the image.
Is the processing done in the browser?▼
Yes. Your original photo is never uploaded to any server. All metadata removal happens locally in your browser.
Which file formats are supported?▼
JPG/JPEG is the primary supported format. PNG, WebP, and other formats rarely contain EXIF data, but the tool can process them as well.
